Submitting heads

Sign in, submit a Minecraft texture, and follow its review status.

Head submissions are native to headdb.net; they do not require a GitHub issue or a second website.

  1. Sign in with Discord.
  2. Open Submit.
  3. Upload a standard 64×64 skin (or legacy 64×32 skin), or provide an existing Mojang texture. Add a display name, category, optional tags, and useful moderator notes.
  4. Submit the request and follow it from My submissions.

For an uploaded skin, the server keeps only the head and hat UV rows, writes them to a canonical 64×64 PNG, and computes a stable SHA-256 texture hash. The resulting texture value points at HeadDB's immutable texture endpoint. Body pixels do not affect duplicate detection. Existing Mojang texture inputs are normalized and verified against Mojang's texture service.

After the pending record is saved, HeadDB sends the moderation channel the submitter identity, submission time, name, category, hash, texture value, tags, notes, and a rendered face preview. A delivery failure does not discard the submission and is visible in the moderation queue.

Approval assigns the next unused numeric ID and publishes the head atomically. Rejection preserves the request and the moderator's explanation, so the result is auditable.
